Describe your space for us.
My space consists of 3 rooms. I have a classroom that houses a Mac Lab, a Control Room that runs the studio, and I have a Studio.
What do you think are some of the benefits of the workspace you all have?
It is nice to have the rooms I have. Each room has a purpose. Our Control room is also used for storage. We are quickly outgrowing our studio space but we are thankful for what our district has given Dragon TV.
What do your students like the most about the workspace you have?
I’ve designed and decorated the rooms to make them feel at home and comfortable. We have LED lights, black walls, neon signs, gaming chairs, etc. The students love to work in this environment.
What computer programs and/or apps are your staff members using on a regular basis?
My students edit video with Final Cut Pro. For graphics design, we use Photoshop and Canva.
What tech equipment are your students using on a daily basis?
We use cameras, microphones, iMacs for editing and in the studio, and we fly drones occasionally.
Aside from the computers and the program, what are one or two pieces of equipment that you have that you think other programs should have?
Every media program needs a few good cameras, and I also use an interactive panel in my classroom every day to show video or to teach lessons on.
How is your workspace funded?
CTE and Fundraising
Do you have anything on your wishlist for your space? If so, what are you looking for and why?
We are wanting to upgrade to an LED wall in our studio. LED walls have the capabilities that a normal monitor won’t have and we can play video and graphics behind the anchors in the studio.
