The South Central Broadcasting Society regional conference will be at West Texas A&M University Oct. 6-7. The conference is for students from four-year universities but Dr. Emily Kinsey from WTAMU has made arrangements for area high school students to attend the Saturday keynote and breakout sessions for $10 per person. The topics planned for that Saturday’s panels include news/reporting, sports reporting/anchoring, film/documentary making, social media, starting your own media business, the music business, a drone workshop, and virtual reality.
The keynote will be at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by panels at 10 and 11 (they’ll have several topics to pick from during each time slot), lunch at noon, another panel at 1.
The Friday night key note speech is free to the public, and students may attend that as well.
(note: This is not an official TAJE sponsored workshop.)
