Describe your space for us.
We have a classroom we share with my graphic design class. We also have a makeshift studio for our podcast room. In our studio, we have lights, a sound board, and two chairs with microphone stands. In our yearbook class, we have our LG computers which work well with our web-based yearbook program.
What do you think are some of the benefits of the workspace you all have?
The staff seem to appreciate the space we have and treat it as such. They know we have to work with what we have and that, since this a new and growing program, our podcast, we will make adjustments as needed.
What do your students like the most about the workspace you have?
They make it work. The area we have for yearbook and podcast accommodate our needs, but as we grow, we will request more space.
What computer programs and/or apps are your staff members using on a regular basis?
We use Walsworth as the yearbook program, and for our podcast, we use Spotify, Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook.
What tech equipment are your students using on a daily basis?
We use LG computers, Canon cameras, soundboards, lighting, and editing software.
Aside from the computers and the program, what are one or two pieces of equipment that you have that you think other programs should have?
Good soundboards, lighting, and cameras.
How is your workspace funded?
I have one budget for both programs. I split them as evenly as possible.
Do you have anything on your wishlist for your space? If so, what are you looking for and why?
Better furniture for guests to sit and talk, laptops to work on for editing and recording.
